Organic Valley Milk is an easy choice. A feel-good choice. Good for you, good for the animals, good for the Earth.
The Care of Our Livestock Matters
Hopefully today we as consumers have become more conscious of the source of our food. All food – especially animal sourced products.
The quality of life, feed & care of our livestock – this should be important to us all. As consumers, we can use our purchase power to support organic and compassionate farming methods. The care & quality of life of our livestock defines us.
Factory farms have herds with thousands of cows. The largest US dairy farms have over 15,000 cows.
An Organic Valley dairy farm has an average herd size of 78 – so every cow gets all the personalized care and attention she deserves.
On average, Organic Valley cows spend 50% more time outside on pasture than USDA organic standards require. Grazing, socializing, sunning themselves – I see it first hand on a daily basis!
Why Organic Matters
No pesticides, no antibiotics, no synthetic hormones, no GMO’s and no added fillers or artificial ingredients.
You get a delicious, nutritious glass of milk with all the good stuff we want and need.
Organic is good for you, good for the animals and good for the earth.
Organic Valley Pledge
“Always and forever organic.”
Organic Valley helped to create the organic food movement in the United States. They helped create the standards for organic farming. Organic Valley works to go above and beyond the official regulations for organic agriculture every single day.
My Local Organic Valley Farmer
Oh my gosh – I love this! You can find your closest Organic Valley farm when you visit their website!
I live in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania – so I’m surrounded by farms.
The closest Organic Valley farm is two miles from my home and I know the family! They truly love and care for their dairy cows. They have a small family farm and a small herd of cows. The cows are free to come and go from their barn as they please. You’ll most often find them out at pasture. A few of the girls are quite inquisitive and will come check you out and say “hi” when you visit.
I was surprised to learn that the majority of farms nearby me are Organic Valley farms. Maybe not so surprised, though. Take a drive thru my neck of the woods and you’ll find small farms with cows always out at pasture. Perhaps it’s become the new wonderful norm in my part of Lancaster. Fingers crossed!
Cookies & Milk – The Classic Pair
We drink a lot of milk in our house. The way I enjoy it most…with cookies of course!
I have many cookie recipes I love – but Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Raisin Cookies paired with a cold, creamy glass of milk is just about comfort food heaven to me! Click here if you’d like the cookie recipe.
We go thru almost a gallon of milk a day – for cereal, oatmeal, iced coffee, cooking but mostly just for drinking.
You can absolutely taste the difference in Organic Valley Milk. It’s creamier, it’s sweeter – and it makes the BEST chocolate milk!
